Software Engineer

Software Engineer – TypeScript / Node.js / AWS Location: Amsterdam – 1–2 days per week onsite Rate: €100 per hour via ZZP Duration: 12 months A leading global technology company is looking for a Software Engineer to help build a new cloud-based platform. This is a full-stack role with a strong backend focus. You will develop APIs and serverless services using TypeScript, Node.js and AWS. You should be comfortable delivering work independently, from initial design through to deployment and production support. Responsibilities Develop backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.Build serverless solutions using AWS Lambda.Work with queues, workers and orchestration tools.Test, deploy and monitor services in production.Build reliable systems that handle failures effectively.Investigate and resolve production issues.Use coding agents to support software development.Work closely with engineers, UX specialists and Product Managers. Essential experience Strong TypeScript and Node.js development experience.Experience designing and building APIs.Strong AWS experience, particularly AWS Lambda.Experience with queues, workers and event-driven systems.Knowledge of S3, DynamoDB, security and observability.Unit, integration and contract-testing experience.Experience with CI/CD and production deployments.Ability to deliver projects independently from start to finish.Experience using AI coding agents.Strong communication and teamwork skills. Desirable experience AWS Durable Lambda or similar orchestration tools.Experience changing APIs without affecting existing users.Experience with feature flags and safe software releases.Experience with specification-driven frameworks such as OpenSpec.
