AI Software Engineer Amsterdam, Netherlands — Hybrid Enterprise AI | AI Software Engineering | Applied AI | Generative AI | SaaS Our client, a growing Enterprise AI company based in Amsterdam, is looking for an AI Software Engineer to build production AI features and backend services that connect LLMs with enterprise applications, workflows, and data. You'll work primarily as a software engineer in an AI product environment, using Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and AWS to turn modern AI capabilities into reliable production software. What You'll Work On • Build production AI applications and backend services in Python • Develop APIs and services using FastAPI • Integrate LLM APIs into enterprise software products • Build RAG pipelines connecting AI applications with company knowledge and data • Design application services and data models using PostgreSQL • Integrate AI features with internal and third-party APIs • Containerise applications using Docker • Deploy and operate services on AWS • Build document ingestion, retrieval, and processing workflows • Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability • Implement robust error handling, logging, and monitoring • Evaluate and improve the quality of AI-powered features • Collaborate with Product, Data, and Software Engineering teams from prototype through production Core Skills • 3+ years in Software Engineering, Backend Engineering, AI Engineering, or a similar role • Strong Python development experience • FastAPI or similar Python backend frameworks • LLM APIs • PostgreSQL • Docker • AWS • RAG • Experience building production software applications Nice to Have OpenAI / Anthropic APIs LangChain / LangGraph Vector databases / pgvector Redis MCP / tool calling AI agents Kubernetes Terraform CI/CD OpenTelemetry LLM evaluation and observability Experience integrating AI into existing enterprise software
