Senior Software Engineer

Coral Procure B.V. is a Netherlands-based organisation building an AI-powered Supplier Intelligence Platform that transforms ERP data, supplier information, market intelligence and external signals into actionable supplier and material risk intelligence. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take technical ownership of core platform modules and help us move from proven demos into a robust, production-grade product. This is a hands-on engineering role combining backend development, frontend development, AI/LLM engineering, data integration, cloud infrastructure and technical leadership. Key ResponsibilitiesTake end-to-end technical ownership of platform modules, including risk analytics, supplier management dashboards and AI signal processing.Design, develop and implement complex backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.Make service-level technical and design decisions within the overall architectural guidelines.Lead development of frontend features using React and TypeScript, establishing reusable patterns and component standards.Architect and build data pipelines and ETL processes, including SAP ECC/S4HANA extraction and transformation logic.Design and implement AI/LLM features, including RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, vector search and Azure OpenAI orchestration.Own PostgreSQL data modelling, query optimisation and performance tuning for high-volume workloads.Drive containerisation and orchestration standards using Docker and Kubernetes and contribute to Azure infrastructure decisions.Establish and maintain CI/CD, testing and code-quality standards.Conduct in-depth code reviews and provide technical mentorship.Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across application, integration and data layers.Work directly with the IT Project Lead to validate designs, identify technical risks and propose technical alternatives.Produce technical design documents, API specifications and architecture decision records.Required Experience5–10 years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or technical-lead capacity.Proven experience designing and delivering complex REST APIs and backend services in production.Strong experience with Python and FastAPI.Experience with React and TypeScript.Solid experience with Azure cloud-native architectures, including containerised and orchestrated deployments.1–2+ years of hands-on experience building AI/LLM-powered features, including RAG, prompt engineering, vector search or model orchestration.Experience with enterprise system integrations; SAP ECC/S4HANA preferred.Demonstrated experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives.Technical SkillsPython, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Azure, Azure OpenAI, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, REST APIs, ETL, Git, Microservices AI & Architecture SkillsPrompt engineering and LLM orchestrationRAG pipeline design and vector searchModel evaluation and basic AI governanceEvent-driven and microservices architecturePerformance engineering and scalability tuningCore CompetenciesSolution-based approachStrong ownership mindsetAbility to translate high-level architecture into detailed technical designsTechnical risk identification and escalationStrong code review and mentorship skillsClear communication with architects and stakeholdersPragmatic trade-off analysis between delivery speed, quality and maintainabilityEducationBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional and practical experience.
