Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS + CDK)

Your mission Working model: Hybrid countX is a Berlin-based SaaS company that simplifies EU VAT compliance for e-commerce businesses. Our platform automates VAT registration, reporting, and compliance processes, enabling online merchants to expand across Europe with less administrative effort and lower compliance risk. We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to own and scale our AWS infrastructure, streamline deployments, and ensure high availability and security across our systems. You’ll be working closely with engineering teams to make our software delivery process fast, reliable, and cost-efficient — all powered by AWS and the AWS CDK. Responsibilities Design, maintain, and improve AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK (TypeScript/Python)Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or similar)Automate deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and operational workflowsMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance using AWS-native tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray, etc.)Implement logging, alerting, and observability best practicesManage networking, security groups, IAM roles, and secrets securelyDrive cost optimization strategies in AWSCollaborate with developers to improve development-to-production workflowsParticipate in on-call rotation and incident resolution Your profile 5+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or similar roleStrong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, CloudFront, etc.)Proven experience with AWS CDK for Infrastructure as CodeProficiency with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, etc.)Good scripting skills (TypeScript, Python, or Bash)Solid knowledge of Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes)Strong understanding of networking, security, and AWS best practicesExperience with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar) Nice to HaveExperience with AWS cost optimization and tagging strategiesKnowledge of serverless architectures (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge)Familiarity with compliance requirements (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) About us At countX, we believe that taxes shouldn’t slow down growth.
