AWS Devops Engineer

Our client is looking for a versatile data platform engineer to help build and operate a cloud-native environment that supports reliable, scalable data services. This opportunity combines platform engineering, automation, infrastructure, and software development, with a strong focus on operational quality and collaboration across teams. Responsibilities Develop and maintain automation and tooling using Python and Shell scripting.Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform.Work across core AWS services, including networking, IAM, compute, and storage.Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot containerized applications on Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.Build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, using Git-based workflows and preferably Bitbucket.Support Snowflake administration, including security configuration, RBAC, privileges, resource hierarchy, and object lifecycle management.Provision and manage Snowflake resources through Terraform, supporting automated environment setup, access management, and governance.Apply solid software engineering practices such as version control, code reviews, testing, automation, and operational excellence. Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with Python and Shell scripting.Practical knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.Deep understanding of AWS cloud services and architecture.Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS in production environments.Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance.Good understanding of Snowflake administration and Terraform-based resource provisioning. Profile The ideal candidate brings an engineering mindset, a structured approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment. You should be comfortable moving between platform operations, automation, and software development, while keeping reliability, scalability, and governance in focus. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Clear and effective communication skills.Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Good understanding of best practices in DevOps and platform engineering. Practical Information Preferred languages: fluent Dutch and fluent English.Experience with Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem is a plus.Knowledge of Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures is also considered an advantage.
