A growing healthcare business is looking for an experienced engineer to join the team. This role focuses on designing high-end software components for desktop applications, ensuring performance, stability, and scalability within a clinical environment. The successful candidate will drive the modernization of existing codebases while leveraging advanced technology to improve software quality. What you'll be doing • Design and develop high-performance software components for medical desktop applications. • Architect and implement complex multithreading and parallelization concepts for responsive execution. • Analyze, refactor, and optimize a large codebase using tools like Qt, CMake, Conan, and MSVC. • Collaborate with architecture and QA teams to modernize legacy systems toward modern frameworks. • Utilize AI tools and agents to accelerate refactoring, code analysis, and workflow improvements. What we're looking for • Extensive senior-level experience in professional software development for high-performance desktop systems. • A university degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline. • Deep expertise in modern C++ (14/17/20), multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning. • Proficiency with Qt, CMake, MSVC, and the integration of components such as CEF. • Fluency in both German and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in cross-functional teams.
