Frontend Engineer | AI-Native Productivity Start-up | Remote-first (London office available) More than 5 billion people use basic email, notes, tasks and calendar apps that aren't AI-native. Our client is a well-funded, AI-native start-up building proactive applications for people who aren't used to complex prompting. The focus is reliable long-running workflows, persistent context and real-world task completion. The goal is to organise anyone's life. The role You will build the core web experiences across Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs and Sheets. You'll own complex, highly interactive product surfaces from architecture through implementation, working closely with product, design, backend and AI engineers so that AI is a native part of how users communicate, write, organise and work. What you'll own Major web experiences across Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs and SheetsReal-time messaging, collaborative editing, rich-text editing, scheduling, tables and spreadsheetsReusable frontend architecture and components shared across the company's applicationsStreaming AI responses, proactive actions and model-driven experiences built directly into product workflowsFrontend performance, responsiveness, reliability and accessibility across browsers and devicesTaking ideas from prototype to production quickly, alongside product and design What we're looking for Strong experience building complex, production web applications in React and TypeScriptDeep understanding of frontend architecture, state management, browser APIs and performanceExperience building highly interactive products: chat, collaboration, productivity, document editing, calendars or workspacesExperience with real-time systems, WebSockets, streaming APIs or collaborative interfacesStrong product and UI judgment, with attention to interaction detailAble to own features independently from technical design through to production Tech stack TypeScript, React / Next.js, HTML / CSS, WebSockets and streaming APIs, Node.js, REST / GraphQL A small, hands-on team with high talent density.
