About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Developer specializing in React, Next.js, and Node.js to join our dynamic digital transformation team. This is a permanent position based in Chester with a hybrid working model, offering flexibility and a stimulating environment to work on impactful projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in modernizing an existing business-facing management platform that supports complex operational workflows. Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates should possess extensive commercial experience with React.js, Next.js, and Node.js. A strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, including Next.js App Router, Server Components, and Server Actions, is essential. Candidates should have proven experience in delivering frontend refactors, migrations, or significant modernization projects within complex digital environments. Familiarity with integrating frontend applications with APIs, especially OpenAPI-driven backend services, is required. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and strong communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working within enterprise environments or large-scale digital transformation projects will be advantageous. Responsibilities Lead the integration of frontend functionality with an OpenAPI-driven Node.js backend, ensuring seamless communication and data flow.Drive the refactoring of an existing frontend application utilizing Next.js App Router, Server Components, and Server Actions to optimize performance and maintainability.Develop and implement scalable, reusable UI components using React and Next.js, adhering to best practices for frontend development.Optimize client-side and server-side caching strategies to improve application speed and responsiveness.Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate visual designs into high-quality, accessible frontend solutions.Work in tandem with backend engineers to ensure alignment with API contracts and backend functionality.Contribute to the refinement of user stories, technical requirements, and project delivery plans to ensure timely completion.Participate in stakeholder discussions, presentations, and technical decision-making processes to guide project direction.Maintain a focus on application stability, scalability, and user experience improvements through continuous testing and optimization.
