Senior Backend Developer (Golang)

QTech is looking for a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer (Golang) to design, build and evolve high-performance backend services and distributed systems. You will turn product requirements into robust, maintainable and scalable software, working across service architecture, integrations, data and production reliability. The role combines hands-on development with technical ownership, continuous improvement and close collaboration with the engineering team. Key responsibilities Design, develop and maintain high-performance backend services in Go.Build and evolve microservices and distributed systems with a focus on scalability, reliability and maintainability.Design and implement REST and RPC APIs, including gRPC-based services.Work with PostgreSQL and SQL to build reliable and efficient data access layers.Integrate internal services, third-party APIs and external data providers.Write unit and integration tests and maintain production-quality engineering standards.Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems.Review code, improve existing modules and contribute to architectural decisions.Identify technical debt and propose practical improvements to system design, performance and maintainability.Contribute to observability through structured logging, metrics and distributed tracing.Share knowledge, improve engineering practices and contribute to a strong technical culture.Engineering principles Build simple, maintainable solutions for complex technical problems.Prefer clear architecture, explicit interfaces and well-defined service boundaries.Design services for reliability, scalability and predictable performance.Treat testing, observability and operational readiness as part of production development.Make technical decisions with long-term maintainability and system evolution in mind.Continuously improve existing systems rather than introducing unnecessary complexity.Required experience 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with Go.Strong knowledge of Go, including concurrency, interfaces, error handling and performance considerations.Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.Practical experience designing and integrating REST and RPC APIs, including gRPC.Experience building and maintaining production backend services.Proficiency with Git; GitLab experience is a plus.Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised applications.Experience writing unit and integration tests.Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex production issues.Strong understanding of clean code, maintainability and software design principles.Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and work effectively with other engineers.Strong written and spoken English.Desirable experience Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.Strong understanding of Go concurrency patterns and performance optimisation.Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems.Experience with observability platforms and practices, including logging, metrics and distributed tracing.Experience integrating third-party services and external data providers.Experience working with high-load or latency-sensitive systems.Experience contributing to system architecture and technical standards.We offer Competitive market-based salary.Performance-based bonuses.Official employment contract.22 paid vacation days per year.Paid sick leave.Career growth opportunities.International work environment.Full training and onboarding support.
