Role Overview As a Backend Engineer at Ajaib, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust software solutions that impact millions of users. You will collaborate closely with product and business leaders to provide solution guidance, mentor fellow engineers, and contribute to our high-velocity engineering culture. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy resilient software solutions powering high-scale financial platformsDeliver high-performance, low-latency services capable of handling high transaction volumesBuild and optimize fault-tolerant distributed systems under rapid growth demandsCollaborate with product and business stakeholders to navigate technical constraints and requirementsShare past experiences, maintain elite technical execution discipline, and mentor fellow engineersDeploy to hybrid environments and provide operational technical assistanceUse AI with "human in the loop" principle in mind and critical and mindful assessment of the AI solutionsLearn new technologies and concepts quickly with a genuine curiosity Requirements Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on distributed systems or backend architectureLanguages & Frameworks: Highly proficient in one or more of the following core programming languages and frameworks: Java, C, Go, or RustDatabases: Solid practical experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query tuning and optimization. Experience with Redis is a big plusMessage Brokers: strong, practical experience building asynchronous processing and system decoupling in a reliable and retriable way. Experience with Kafka, NATS is a strong plusCloud Infrastructure: Skilled practitioner of deployments onto major cloud players.
