Software Developer (Part-Time) — Norlease North Bay, ON (Remote) · Part-Time About the company Norlease is building the first verified rental listing platform for North Bay and Northern Ontario. Rental listing sites today let anyone post anything, which means renters waste time chasing fake landlords, scam listings, and properties that don't exist. Norlease fixes this at the infrastructure level: every landlord goes through phone verification and manual ID review before a listing ever goes live. No income filtering, no credit checks, free for everyone. The platform is live in production today, not a prototype or a pitch deck, and we're pushing toward a September launch across Northern Ontario. Job description This is a part-time role for someone who wants to work on a real, shipping product without a full-time commitment. You'd be contributing across the stack as needed, picking up features and fixes that move the platform forward on a schedule that fits around your other commitments. Day to day, that could mean: Building small to mid-sized features end to end: database schema, API route, and UIWorking on the systems that keep the platform reliable (search performance, background jobs, verification pipelines) or the parts users actually touch (listing flows, map search, mobile photo capture)Fixing real production issues as they come up, with visible impact on actual renters and landlords using the platformContributing to the next layer of the product: notifications, listing lifecycle automation, and early monetization featuresWork is asynchronous and self-directed. You'll get clear context on what needs doing and the trust to figure out how, rather than being micromanaged through tickets. Qualifications 2+ years of professional software development experience, ideally with a modern TypeScript/React or Node.js stackComfortable moving between frontend and backend work as the task requiresSolid fundamentals in SQL, API design, and state managementAble to work independently and communicate clearly in writing, since most collaboration happens asyncA track record of shipping real features, not just completing ticketsBonus: experience with geospatial data (PostGIS), image processing pipelines, or Next.js/Drizzle specifically Closing note If you want to work on something real, with direct ownership and visible impact, without giving up a full-time schedule elsewhere, this is a good fit.
