About The Role Nightwing is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting a U.S. Government customer. In this role, you will be instrumental in automating, optimizing, and managing the deployment of secure cloud-based engagement kits used for cyber incident response and threat hunting operations. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, managing source control repositories, and implementing infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure consistent, scalable, and reliable deployments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to national cybersecurity efforts by enabling rapid deployment of tools and environments crucial for defending against cyber threats. You will collaborate with architects, administrators, and security teams to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the integrity and security of cloud infrastructure used in critical mission support. Qualifications The ideal candidate must possess a combination of technical expertise, security clearance, and relevant experience. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in DevOps, automation, or software engineering roles. A strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible is essential. Experience with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions, along with scripting skills in Python, Bash, or YAML, is required. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance, be U.S. citizens, and be able to obtain DHS suitability. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or alternatively, a high school diploma with over seven years of directly relevant experience. Knowledge of AWS cloud services, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Linux/Unix systems is also necessary. Desired skills include experience with container orchestration platforms, security automation, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack. Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are advantageous. Responsibilities Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of engagement kits, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery.Manage source control repositories, implementing best practices for version control and change management.Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to provision and configure cloud resources.Automate provisioning, configuration, and scaling of cloud infrastructure to support operational requirements.Enhance the capabilities of engagement kits through automation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and functionality.Collaborate with system architects and administrators to streamline deployment workflows and improve system stability.Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure operational visibility and proactive issue resolution.Support troubleshooting efforts and performance optimization during active deployments and operational phases.Maintain strict version control and change management processes to ensure consistency and security across deployments.Develop automation scripts and tools to reduce manual intervention and increase deployment repeatability.Participate in security hardening initiatives and automate compliance processes to meet security standards and regulations.
