Frontend Engineer (React / UI/UX)

We are looking for an experienced Forward Deployed UI/UX Engineer (GenAI Applications) to join our team. About the RoleIn this role, you will work directly with business users to design, develop, and deploy intuitive applications built on an established enterprise GenAI platform. You will combine strong UI/UX design capabilities with hands-on React frontend engineering to translate complex business workflows into user-friendly, production-ready applications. Working closely with business stakeholders, AI engineers, and backend developers, you will own the frontend delivery lifecycle, from user discovery and rapid prototyping through implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. Key ResponsibilitiesEngage business users to understand their workflows, pain points, and requirements, translating findings into user journeys, wireframes, interaction designs, and functional specifications.Design and develop responsive, production-quality web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes using Figma or equivalent tools, incorporating user feedback through iterative design and usability testing.Design intuitive interfaces for GenAI and agentic applications, including conversational experiences, streaming responses, workflow execution, human-in-the-loop approvals, and error handling.Develop reusable frontend components and maintain consistent design patterns, ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and usability.Collaborate with AI and backend engineers to integrate frontend applications with APIs, authentication services, databases, and enterprise systems.Implement frontend best practices covering state management, performance optimisation, security, and automated testing.Support application deployment, production rollout, user onboarding, documentation, and ongoing enhancements.Identify opportunities to improve shared UI components and contribute reusable design patterns to the enterprise GenAI platform. RequirementsMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in frontend engineering, UI/UX engineering, interaction design with hands-on development, or a similar product-facing role.Strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend development practices.Experience with Next.js, component-based architecture, state management, responsive design, REST API integration, and frontend testing.Proficiency in Figma or equivalent UI/UX design and prototyping tools.Strong understanding of user-centred design, information architecture, interaction design, usability testing, visual hierarchy, and accessibility principles.Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements and design concepts into polished, maintainable, production-ready applications.Working knowledge of backend APIs, authentication, databases, cloud environments, Git, CI/CD, and secure software development practices.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work directly with non-technical users and translate ambiguous requirements into practical solutions.Ability to work independently and take ownership of solutions from initial discovery through production deployment. Good to HaveExperience designing or developing GenAI applications, AI copilots, chatbots, agentic workflows, or other AI-enabled products.Experience in forward-deployed engineering, consulting, solutions engineering, or enterprise application delivery.Experience building or extending design systems and reusable component libraries.Familiarity with data visualisation libraries such as Recharts, D3.js, or Chart.js.Experience delivering applications in government, public sector, or regulated environments, including familiarity with IM8 policies.
