Senior Python Developer

A leading technology driven hedge fund is looking for a Senior Python Developer to join their risk technology team here in London. Having gone through a period of growth since venturing into new asset classes, there is a need to revamp and rebuild some key components of their risk systems used by Risk Managers and Risk Analysts across the firm. The successful Senior Python Developer will be working on these projects with the goal to make the platform more scaleable and resilient for both internal stakeholders and external clients. To be considered for this role, the successful applicant should have extensive experience building Python systems using modern architecture and with a focus on scalability. Prior experience working in risk is not required, although prior experience working in financial markets would be advantageous. Key Requirements 5+ years of software development experience, ideally within financial markets Strong programming skills with Python and SQLKnowledge of distributed systems and messaging technologies (Kafka, Kinesis or similar)Experience with data engineering (relational databases, building data pipelines, Lakehouse systems, etc)Experience with cloud, container and micro service infrastructures (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL design patternsExperience with workflow orchestration and scheduling platforms (Airflow, Dagster or similar) This is a chance to working in a business facing development role for a leading hedge fund using modern technologies and alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.
