Role Description
The Senior Release Engineer (Go / Erlang) will oversee and optimize the end-to-end release process for complex distributed systems.
This full-time remote role involves designing and maintaining release pipelines, coordinating release activities across development, QA, and operations teams, and ensuring safe, reliable deployments to production.
The person in this role will build and maintain CI/CD infrastructure, automate release workflows, and improve tooling around versioning, packaging, and rollout strategies.
Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with software engineers on release readiness, monitoring release quality and performance, troubleshooting deployment issues, and contributing to best practices and documentation for release management.
The Senior Release Engineer will also participate in planning and program-level coordination to align releases with product roadmaps and stakeholder expectations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Release Engineering and Release Management for distributed, production-grade systems.Candidates should possess skills in Continuous Integration and CI/CD pipeline design, automation, and maintenance.Candidates should possess skills in Software Development, ideally with hands-on experience in Go and/or Erlang.Candidates should possess Program Management and coordination skills to manage release schedules, risks, and cross-team communication.Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is highly beneficial.Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and incident management tools to ensure reliable deployments is advantageous.A background in version control systems (Git), build tools, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong analytical, communication, and remote collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and in distributed teams.
