One of our federal Government clients is seeking to engage FMW /Oracle Fusion Middleware Developers for QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, NT, SA, TAS locations Job details The Fusion Middleware (FMW) Developer is responsible for developing high-quality FMW solutions in support of business and technical requirements supporting My Aged Care and associated platforms. Overall description The FMW Developer role operates within a mature delivery environment following the successful delivery of aged care reforms, with a focus on system stability, sustainment and continuous improvement, while continuing to deliver high-quality enhancements. This position combines hands-on technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration to deliver solutions that are scalable, secure and aligned with enterprise standards and evolving business requirements. Key duties and responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Enhance and support business systems through development and deployment of SOAP and REST services using Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW) products Oracle Service Bus (OSB) and SOA Suite like BPEL.Describe and consume services using WSDL, WADL, Swagger, Open API etc. and do transformations using XSLT and XQuery.Work with Business Analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into service requirements, including service composition, processing logic, business and mapping rules, error handling policies and error messages.Produce and maintain technical documentation, including technical analysis, mapping documents, service contracts and unit test documentation.Contribute to development and support of integration products like Axway API Gateway, Axway API Manager, Axway API Portal, ESS.Review code, technical designs, developed products and unit test scripts to assure quality and alignment with agreed standards.Work collaboratively with project, architecture, release, operations and production support teams to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes.Support testing, release planning, deployment, warranty and post-release validation activities.Mentor permanent and contractor staff through technical guidance, skills transfer and knowledge sharing.Ensure development activities comply with departmental standards, DevSecOps practices and security requirements.Key capabilities: Demonstrated experience in Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW) development, including service configuration, workflows and integrations.Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to deliver in complex, enterprise environments.Ability to lead technical delivery and provide practical guidance, mentoring and assurance to development teams.Ability to lead technical delivery and provide practical guidance to development teams.Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into practical, fit-for-purpose technical solutions.Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, secure delivery practices and reliable delivery outcomes.Capability must demonstrate: Experience in developing and supporting Oracle Fusion Middleware products, including Oracle Service Bus (OSB) and SOA Suite/BPEL.Expertise in building SOAP and REST web services using established integration patterns and industry best practices.Strong project experience resolving complex technical challenges in enterprise integration environments.Ability to produce high quality detailed technical solution documentation.Ability to produce high-quality unit test specifications based on functional and technical design.Ability to define service contracts, including message definitions, business rules and non-functional requirements.Ability to work with Business Analysts to understand business requirements and translate them to service requirements, including service composition, processing logic, business and mapping rules, error handling policies and error messages.Ability to identify interface performance bottlenecks and support remediation options.Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on the ability to quickly find viable solutions to emergent problems.Ability to produce high-quality detailed technical solution documentation.Demonstrated capacity for continuous learning and delivering high-quality products.Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, software engineering, computer science or a related discipline.Microsoft certification or equivalent contemporary FMW, Azure or DevOps certification.Experience developing or supporting enterprise government, health, aged care or other complex business systems.Experience with Azure services, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-hosted applications or modern deployment practices.Experience with SQL Server, Entity Framework, API management, integration platforms, identity management or application security controls.Understanding of accessibility, cyber security, privacy and recordkeeping requirements in an Australian Government ICT environment.Tools used: Oracle JdeveloperXpath, XQuery, XSLTOracle SQL Developer, MySQLMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio)CI/CD - Azure Devops, Ansible, Jenkin, Bamboo etc.SplunkAxway API GatewayOracle DBGeneral Skills & Attributes: Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proven ability and commitment to work collaboratively with all stakeholders towards common goals.Possess effective planning and problem-solving skills to focus on delivering a quality outcome.Multi-tasking attitude, equally comfortable operating from within both the technology and business environments.Highly motivated and the ability to work with limited supervision and achieve results.
