About The Role As a Senior Staff Software Engineer-Full-Stack at Capital One Canada, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions aligned with our business objectives. Your day will involve reviewing ongoing solution designs across various lifecycle phases, crafting high-level architectures, and evaluating emerging technologies to ensure our systems remain robust and forward-thinking. You will lead the development of architectural strategies, oversee the creation of high-level design documents, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and business partners to ensure solutions meet both technical standards and business needs. Your expertise will influence the technical direction of projects, foster best practices, and mentor junior engineers, all while ensuring compliance with security and architectural standards. Responsibilities Design and implement architectural solutions that align with Capital One Canada's strategic goals and architectural framework.Develop and maintain a comprehensive catalog of technical and business capabilities to support strategic initiatives.Lead the creation, review, and maintenance of Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) and High-Level Design (HLD) documents.Participate actively in governance forums such as the Architectural Review Board to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.Collaborate with stakeholders across various levels to promote technology strategies that enhance business value and foster innovation.Mentor and guide engineering teams in adopting architectural best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of experience in Software Engineering, Systems Architecture, or Technology Solution design.At least 2 years of experience designing solutions architectures within a public cloud environment such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.Over 10 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on scalable and decoupled systems.Experience working in heavily regulated environments, including HIPAA, PCI, and privacy standards.At least 3 years of experience engaging with internal and external business clients to drive technology initiatives.Proficiency in AWS concepts and implementations, with relevant certifications such as Cloud Practitioner or Solution Architect-Associate.Strong communication skills to interact effectively at all organizational levels, with the ability to influence and lead initiatives.Experience mentoring and guiding software engineers or architects.
