Role Overview:
For our client, a global organization operating a large-scale, cloud-first technology environment, we are currently seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (Azure/GCP) to join an international platform engineering team in the Prague region.
This role focuses on designing, building, and operating enterprise-grade cloud data platforms with a strong emphasis on automation, scalability, security, and self-service capabilities.
You will play a key role in enabling data and product teams to consume cloud platform services efficiently while driving best practices in platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Service Delivery
Design, implement, and configure cloud platform services for new business initiativesEnsure platform capabilities are delivered in accordance with enterprise architecture standardsCollaborate closely with data, product, and engineering teams to understand technical requirementsProvide technical guidance and best practices for platform consumersSupport highly available, scalable, and secure cloud environments
Platform Engineering and Automation
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and/or BicepAutomate platform provisioning, configuration, and operational processesDesign and implement self-service capabilities for engineering and data teamsContribute to the continuous improvement of platform reliability, security, and operational efficiencySupport cloud-native and containerized workloads
Operations and Reliability
Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure and platform servicesImplement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutionsTroubleshoot and resolve platform issues across infrastructure, networking, and application layersCollaborate within Agile and DevOps delivery teamsSupport CI/CD processes and platform automation initiatives
What Will You Need To Succeed:
4+ years of experience in a cloud-focused engineering roleStrong hands-on experience with: Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse AnalyticsStrong understanding of modern cloud data platform architecturesProven experience with: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep), Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Automation frameworksStrong Azure networking and security expertise, including: VNets, Private Endpoints, Managed Identities, Key Vault, RBAC, Network Security GroupsExperience administering Kubernetes clusters and containerized platformsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilitiesExperience operating highly available and scalable cloud environmentsKnowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies
