Firmware Engineer

Job Description As a Firmware Engineer, you work within R&D on the development of new high-tech systems and products. You combine embedded firmware development with FPGA development and work on a wide variety of technical projects, often developing solutions completely from scratch. You contribute to the architecture, make technical design choices and develop both firmware and FPGA functionality. From the first concept and prototype to integration and validation, you are involved throughout the complete development cycle. What will you do? Develop embedded firmware for new high-tech products and systemsDevelop and implement FPGA functionality using VHDL and/or VerilogWork on a variety of R&D projects and develop solutions from scratchTranslate system requirements into firmware and FPGA architecturesDevelop low-level software, drivers and hardware interfacesDevelop communication and data exchange between FPGAs, processors, sensors and other subsystemsBuild prototypes and test new functionality on hardwarePerform debugging, simulation and verificationAnalyse technical issues and optimise performance, timing and reliabilityCollaborate closely with electronics, software and system engineers Your profile You hold a BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering or a related fieldYou have experience with embedded firmware development in C and/or C++You have experience with FPGA development using VHDL and/or VerilogYou understand digital electronics, microcontrollers/processors and hardware interfacesYou enjoy designing and developing new systems from the ground upYou are experienced in debugging, testing and solving complex technical problemsYou enjoy working on different technical projects within an R&D environmentExperience in high-tech systems, semiconductor equipment, robotics or other complex product development is a plus Interested?
