Back End Engineer

London (Farringdon) We’re building LLM-powered workflow tools to support investment research for private market investors, used by leading private equity and consulting firms globally. The company is profitable, bootstrapped, and growing quickly, with a team of 30+ across London, NYC, and Sydney. The Role This is a high-ownership backend engineering role focused on building and scaling systems that power an AI-driven research platform. You’ll work across backend systems, data pipelines, integrations, and internal infrastructure — partnering closely with product, commercial, and operations teams to automate workflows and improve decision-making. What You’ll Do Design and scale backend systems supporting LLM workflows, vector search, and orchestrationBuild data pipelines and internal platforms integrating product, CRM, and financial systemsDevelop automation and internal tooling to improve company efficiencyOwn systems end-to-end — from architecture to productionContribute to engineering culture and technical direction Example Projects Customer Health System: unify product usage, CRM, and feedback into actionable insightsUser Feedback Pipeline: process calls with LLMs to extract themes and product insightsBilling Infrastructure: build systems for complex B2B pricing and automated invoicingInternal Data Platform: create reliable pipelines and APIs for reporting and operations About You Based in London (or willing to relocate)Experience owning backend systems end-to-endStrong in Python or TypeScriptStrong PostgreSQL and familiarity with modern data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)Comfortable working in fast-moving startup environmentsEnjoy translating business problems into scalable technical systems Nice to Have Experience with AI/LLM workflows or internal platforms Benefits Private health insuranceGym membershipDinner when working lateTeam off-sites For more info or to apply, please share your CV to gjurgjica@mentortalent.ie.
