Senior Java Developer (Low Latency / eCommerce)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a leading financial institution's eCommerce EQD IT team in Hong Kong. This role focuses on building and maintaining Java-based applications on the Smart Derivatives perimeter, contributing to the growth of the APAC eCommerce EQD business towards the X-Asset FX perimeter. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, project teams, and application support teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced, low-latency trading environment. ⇒ Main Responsibilities Build and maintain Java-based applications following coding and quality standards, with a focus on the Smart Derivatives perimeter.Take responsibility for the successful delivery of solutions.Communicate continually with clients and project teams, providing progress updates on development efforts.Collaborate closely with Business Analysts to ensure alignment on requirements.Work with the applications support and production team, performing 3rd line support responsibilities as needed.Assist in defining software architectures, collaborating with leads to explore existing systems and identify areas of complexity or potential risk.Work with the central team to define and develop best practices. ⇒ Qualifications & Experience Mandatory: 5+ years of experience in Java (17+) core programming, including multi-threaded programming with low-latency constraints.Relevant experience using Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Stream, etc.).Relevant experience using GIT and related code review software.Relevant experience using MS SQL or Oracle Server.Strong Advantage: Practical knowledge of Kafka or any stream processing platform.Practical knowledge of web technologies: Angular (12+), TypeScript/JavaScript.Advantage: Relevant experience relating to DevOps practices and tooling.Knowledge relating to Agile practices.Soft Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Ability to explain progress and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
