Senior Microsoft Cloud & Systems Engineer

Location: Edmonton, Alberta Type: Hybrid Nexsate Technologies Inc. is looking for a Senior Microsoft Cloud & Systems Engineer to take technical ownership of Microsoft cloud, identity, systems and backup environments across our managed IT services portfolio. The role is well suited to an experienced engineer with strong hands-on capability across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Windows Server, Intune, Autopilot and backup/recovery technologies. Responsibilities Administer and support Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune and Windows Server environments.Manage Azure infrastructure across virtual machines, networking, monitoring, identity integration, availability and resilience.Govern identity and access controls across hybrid identity, MFA, Conditional Access and privileged access.Administer Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot for endpoint provisioning, configuration, compliance and policy management.Manage enterprise backup, replication and recovery services, with responsibility for backup integrity, restore testing and recovery readiness.Lead technical troubleshooting and escalation for complex cloud, systems, identity, infrastructure and recovery issues.Strengthen managed environments through system hardening, patch management and vulnerability remediation.Support infrastructure migrations, client on-boarding, service transitions and technology modernization initiatives.Maintain architecture diagrams, configuration records, recovery procedures, runbooks and technical documentation.Contribute to incident, problem and change management through root-cause analysis, corrective actions and technical recommendations.Work across service desk, cybersecurity, network and field-support functions to resolve issues that span multiple technology domains.Provide senior technical guidance on Microsoft cloud, infrastructure, identity, resilience and recovery architecture. Required Experience Strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and Windows Server in production environments.Proven experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot for endpoint provisioning, configuration, compliance and lifecycle management.Solid understanding of hybrid identity, identity synchronization, MFA, Conditional Access and privileged access controls.Experience managing enterprise backup, replication, restore and recovery operations, with a strong understanding of recovery readiness and data protection.Strong working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, VPNs, certificates, networking and hybrid cloud connectivity.Experience with infrastructure monitoring, system hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation and technical documentation.Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across cloud, systems, identity, infrastructure and recovery environments.Experience supporting migrations, on-boarding, service transitions and modernization initiatives in live production environments.Strong understanding of incident, problem and change management, with experience contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions.Experience working in a managed services or enterprise IT environment, supporting multiple production systems, technical escalations and client-facing service delivery.
