About The Role You will play a key role in delivering features across our mobile, web, and cloud platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role with a balanced focus on building polished Flutter user experiences and designing scalable backend services and APIs using modern AI-assisted development practices. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and clinical stakeholders to transform ideas and designs into production-ready software. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, moves quickly, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering high-quality products. Key Responsibilities Software Development Design and build scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and AWSBuild and maintain cross-platform applications using FlutterContribute to system architecture and technical design decisionsImplement new features from Figma designs across the full stackDeliver responsive, polished, and accessible user interfacesInvestigate and resolve full-stack performance and UI/UX issuesKeep dependencies and tooling current (Node, Flutter, Prisma, AWS SDKs)Refactor and pay down technical debt as part of normal feature work Product Quality & QA Verify features against business requirements before releasePerform manual testing and regression testingIdentify edge cases and usability issuesEnsure features match approved designs and expected workflowsWrite and maintain automated tests (Flutter widget tests, Jest API tests) Design Collaboration Work closely with designers to ensure accurate implementationParticipate in feature discussions during planning stagesProvide development estimates and feedback on proposed feature designsHelp improve consistency across the product experienceContribute to new product and feature ideas Technology Stack Experience in some or most of the following is highly desirable: Frontend FlutterDartReactResponsive Web DevelopmentCross Platform Mobile App DevelopmentFigma Backend Node.js / TypeScriptREST APIsAWSServerless ArchitecturesPostgreSQL Quality Automated TestingManual QAFlutter widget / integration testsDebuggingPerformance Optimisation What We're Looking For 5+ years commercial software development experienceStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to work independentlyExcellent attention to detailCommercial cross platform mobile app experience (Flutter strongly preferred)Commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScriptAWS cloud servicesProven ability to build and deploy scalable backend APIsExperience working directly with designersAgentic coding tools and workflows (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)ReactJS production experience Nice to Have Healthcare or regulated industry experienceStartup experienceInfrastructure as code (AWS SAM or CloudFormation) and GitHub ActionsEvent-driven architectures (SQS, webhooks, background jobs)Integrating third-party APIs (CRM, practice management, CMS, payments)Payments: Stripe or App Store / Google Play in-app purchasesPrisma or similar ORM, and comfort writing raw SQLObservability tooling (Sentry, CloudWatch) Personal Attributes We are looking for someone who: Takes ownership of outcomesHas strong attention to detailEnjoys learning new technologiesThinks critically rather than simply following instructionsIs proactive in identifying problems and proposing solutionsBalances speed with qualityCares about code quality and readabilityCares deeply about delivering excellent user experiences
