Senior DevOps and Platform Engineer

🚨 Hiring | Senior DevOps & Platform Engineer | Remote Australia 🚨 I’m looking for a Senior DevOps & Platform Engineer to take ownership of the cloud and infrastructure foundations behind a complex data platform. This isn’t a role where you’ll inherit a mature AWS environment and simply keep the lights on. You’ll be responsible for taking an existing cloud footprint and turning it into a deliberately designed, secure and scalable platform, with genuine ownership over the technical direction. The role will cover: ☁️ AWS architecture, multi account environments, Landing Zones & guardrails ⚙️ Terraform / Infrastructure as Code 🔄 CI/CD, release engineering & developer productivity 🐳 Kubernetes, containers & production compute 📊 Infrastructure supporting large scale data platforms ⚡ Distributed data workloads, including Spark 🔐 IAM, cloud security, secrets, encryption & supply chain security 📈 Observability, reliability, resilience & cloud cost optimisation The data side is particularly important. You’ll be supporting the infrastructure behind a distributed data platform, so experience operating, securing or tuning technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Presto/Trino, Iceberg or Airflow would be highly regarded. They’re looking for someone who understands the whole platform, not just individual AWS services. You should be comfortable thinking about account architecture, networking, identity, security, IaC, deployment pipelines, developer experience and the data workloads running on top of it. This could be a great move if you’ve built cloud/platform capability from the ground up before and want the autonomy to do it properly again. There’s no people management requirement.
