About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team at Version 1. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications that align with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Java development, extensive experience working with AWS cloud services, and a solid understanding of database management. Experience with batch processing systems is highly preferred. As a Senior Java Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and mentor junior developers. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7+ years of proven experience as a Java Developer in product development or service environments is required. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and EventBridge. Additionally, at least 5+ years of experience with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including writing complex SQL queries and performance troubleshooting, is essential. Technical proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful API development is mandatory. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are vital, along with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team setting. Candidates should also possess an SC clearance, which is essential for this role. Responsibilities The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for a broad range of technical and collaborative tasks, including: Designing and developing robust, scalable, and efficient Java applications that meet business requirements.Utilizing AWS services to build, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions, ensuring high availability and scalability.Designing, implementing, and maintaining database schemas, writing complex SQL queries, and optimizing database performance.Developing and managing batch processing systems to handle large volumes of data efficiently, ensuring reliability and performance.Ensuring high code quality through rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to best practices and coding standards.Collaborating closely with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within scope.Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues promptly to ensure optimal system operation.Providing mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.
