About The Role Nightwing is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team supporting a U.S. Government customer. This role involves the automation, optimization, and management of cloud-based engagement kits, specifically within the Bespin environment. The primary focus is on building and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, managing source control repositories, and implementing infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure deployment consistency, scalability, and stability. The successful candidate will work closely with architects and administrators to streamline deployment processes, enhance kit capabilities through automation, and support active operations with troubleshooting and performance optimization. This position offers an opportunity to directly contribute to national cybersecurity efforts by ensuring that critical infrastructure is reliable, secure, and rapidly deployable during cyber incidents. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, experience, and security clearances necessary to succeed in this role. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent experience of 7+ years in relevant roles can be considered. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active TS/SCI clearance and be able to obtain DHS suitability. Proven experience of at least three years in DevOps, automation, or software engineering roles is required. Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible is essential. Additionally, expertise with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions, along with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or YAML, is necessary. Knowledge of Git and version control best practices, AWS cloud services and APIs, containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and Linux/Unix systems is also required. Desired skills include experience with container orchestration platforms, security automation, and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack. Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are advantageous. Responsibilities Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of engagement kits, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.Manage source control repositories, maintaining version control and change management processes to support continuous integration and delivery.Implement infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar platforms to automate cloud resource provisioning and configuration.Automate provisioning, configuration, and scaling of cloud resources to support operational demands.Enhance engagement kit capabilities through automation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and functionality.Collaborate with architects and system administrators to streamline deployment processes and ensure consistency across environments.Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to maintain system health and facilitate troubleshooting during active operations.Support troubleshooting efforts and optimize system performance to meet operational requirements.Maintain version control and change management processes to ensure deployment integrity and traceability.Develop automation scripts and tools to reduce manual efforts and improve deployment repeatability.Participate in security hardening initiatives and automate compliance processes to adhere to security standards and best practices.
