Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to design, develop, integrate, and support a scalable Calculation Engine. The role will focus on building secure, modular, highly testable backend services that implement complex scientific calculations, business rules, data models, and calculation workflows. The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Domain Specialists, QA teams, UX teams, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to translate validated formulas, rules, assumptions, and dependency flows into reliable, production-grade software components. The role requires strong expertise in modern Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, automated testing, Azure, CI/CD, and the ability to work with complex calculation logic and scientific/business models. Design, develop, enhance, and support modular Python services and REST APIs for a calculation engine. Translate validated formulas, business rules, assumptions, and dependency flows into accurate, maintainable, deterministic, and testable Python components. Develop and integrate calculation capabilities Build reusable calculation libraries, data models, validation rules, configuration services, and version-controlled datasets using Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, SQL, PostgreSQL, or approved equivalent technologies. Integrate calculation services with application platforms through well-defined API contracts, structured request/response models, secure authentication, validation, and reliable error handling. Design and implement APIs with appropriate versioning, documentation, validation, exception handling, and OpenAPI specifications.
