Role and Responsibilities
Own technical design and architecture for mission-critical C++ backend services, driving scalability, performance, and long-term maintainabilityProvide technical leadership by mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and establishing engineering standards and best practicesDesign, implement, and evolve high-performance, low latency microservices using modern C++ within CI/CD ecosystemDrive performance optimization across distributed systems, including advanced multithreading, memory management, and profiling in a cloud-native (GCP, containerized) environmentDesign, execute, and analyze performance, load, stress, and scalability tests to identify bottlenecks and validate system behavior under production-like workloadsPerform application profiling and performance diagnostics, driving continuous improvements in latency, throughput, resource utilization, and overall system efficiencyOwn service lifecycle quality, including reliability, security, observability, and integration with platform servicesAct as the technical escalation point for complex issues, leading root-cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and systemic improvementsCollaborate with Product and Architecture teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutionsApproach and Behaviors

Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a C++ Developer, and 2+ years as a Team LeaderBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related fieldExpertise in: Modern C++ (17/20/23), Multithreading, Data Structures, and performance tuning (memory management, low-latency optimization)Proficiency in the C++ Standard Library (STL) and Boost C++ LibrariesExpertise in: GCP Pub/Sub, and REST/JSON APIs (gRPC is nice to have)Understanding of: OAuth2, JWT, and cloud security best practicesSolid knowledge of algorithmic thinking and distributed systems architecture, including consistency, durability, and failure/resiliency considerationsFluency in Git-based workflows and large-scale CI/CD toolchains (GitHub Actions); scripting (Python/Bash) to support automation, tooling, and operationsStrong understanding of NoSQL data modeling and document design, including denormalization strategies and evolution/versioning of schemasExperience building migration/ETL processes, data backfills, and reconciliation/validation tooling to ensure functional equivalence during cutoverStrong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, common design patterns, and clean code best practicesGood Unix/Linux knowledge and experience developing, debugging, profiling, and operating services in Linux environments (including large-scale/legacy codebases)Experience working with AI Tools (Copilot/Agentic)Experience migrating or modernizing persistence layers, including rewriting applications from legacy object databases (e.g., Versant) to distributed NoSQL platforms (e.g., Couchbase)Hands-on experience with Couchbase, including buckets, scopes/collections, indexing, N1QL querying, and use of Couchbase SDKs (C++ preferred)
