Description

VSpace Creative Software Studio is an independent development workspace building agentic infrastructure for creative and interactive media software. Our current direction explores how specialist knowledge in motion, sound, spatial behavior and interaction can become reusable software capability around lower-cost language models. Our technical foundation currently includes JavaScript, Python and structured JSON systems, with machine-learning components introduced where they provide meaningful capability. V🌔Space is our first working product and development environment, bringing together live sound, responsive visual spaces and browser-based media technology. ABOUT THIS ROLE This is an unpaid, part-time collaborative project role, not a salaried employment position or a conventional internship. We are interested in meeting developers who already have a foundation in software or web development and want to explore what becomes possible when that foundation moves into agent-assisted creative software development. You may already be comfortable building conventional web applications and now want to go deeper: working with agentic systems, media behavior, interaction, motion, sound, structured design knowledge and AI-assisted coding as parts of a larger software architecture. OWNERSHIP We are not looking for someone to receive a list of tasks and execute them for us. You would identify and develop a project territory of your own within the wider technical system. That territory could emerge from your existing skills, something you want to investigate, a problem you discover in the system, or an idea you believe is worth building. The studio provides the wider direction, existing infrastructure and development context. We can also exchange knowledge around system and product design, development methodology, and AI-assisted software engineering. Within that environment, you are expected to bring your own technical judgment: understand the system, form questions, make decisions, build, test, challenge assumptions and take responsibility for the direction you choose to develop. The aim is for your contribution to become something you genuinely own intellectually and professionally inside a real product-development environment. WHO THIS MAY SUIT This may be particularly relevant if you: • already have practical web or software-development experience • have learned programming but want deeper experience inside a real evolving system • want to move from generic web development toward creative and agent-assisted software engineering • are interested in the intersection of software architecture, language models, interaction, motion, sound or computational media • want to identify an unresolved real-world problem, build a working solution, deploy it, and test what happens when that solution meets real users and real conditions You do not need to give us your whole week. A few hours per week can be enough. What matters is continuity. Your project should be able to develop over time: questions become experiments, experiments become working structures, failures produce knowledge, and useful structures become part of a larger system. WHAT YOU CAN LEAVE WITH The goal is not simply to say that you participated in a project. You should be able to explain what territory you took ownership of, what questions you investigated, what technical decisions you made, what you built, what changed because of your work, and how your contribution existed within a larger working product. The studio itself is still developing, so the architecture and product direction are open to serious technical challenge and new ideas. We are based in Berlin and work primarily through a flexible, project-based collaboration. If this territory interests you, tell us what you have already been building or learning, where your technical curiosity is moving now, and what you might want to investigate or build inside this system.
