About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer (m/w/d) to join our talented development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java-based backend systems that power our innovative software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and quality assurance specialists, to deliver scalable and efficient APIs, web services, and backend functionalities. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex projects, influence architectural decisions, and implement best practices in backend development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive approach, and a passion for building reliable and high-performance systems. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational background in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields, or have extensive practical experience in Java backend development. Candidates with a proven track record of working with backend frameworks and tools are preferred. Essential qualifications include expertise in developing APIs and web services, experience with database integration and ORM frameworks, and familiarity with frontend-backend integration. Strong knowledge of automated testing methodologies to ensure application quality is required. Excellent analytical skills, the ability to create technical concepts, and architectural design experience are highly valued. Proficiency in German and good command of English are necessary for effective communication within our international team. Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will include working within our software development teams at our Munich and Nuremberg locations, as well as remotely, to develop and enhance backend systems. You will design, implement, and optimize APIs and web services, ensuring seamless integration with frontend systems and databases. Monitoring the performance and scalability of backend applications will be part of your routine to maintain high standards of reliability. You will analyze client requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and develop solutions that meet business needs. Documentation of developed systems and adherence to coding standards and development guidelines are essential parts of your role. Additionally, you will participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
