JOB PURPOSE
To design, implement, maintain, and support the IRIS infrastructure and applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
The role focuses on system integration, configuration, and continuous enhancement of IRIS modules to support organizational operations and strategic objectives.
The IRIS System Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with business requirements, troubleshoot issues, and support end-users in utilizing the platform effectively.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring accuracy and efficient data exchange across the ecosystem of partner APIsIngest healthcare data from source systems into FHIR resources and profiles through developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processesDesign and implement scalable, high-volume data integration and interoperability solutions using IRIS For Health, Ensemble, Cache, and ObjectScriptCreate tables, classes, program logics, APIs backend code etc for the client solutionsCreate job routines based on the solution requirements.Create, enhance, and maintain healthcare system interfaces using HL7v2, HL7v3, FHIR, CDA, and X12Create and maintain data mapping specifications to transform non-FHIR data formats into FHIR-compliant dataDesign and maintain FHIR-based data model to meet the needs of downstream API systemsImplement terminology mappings (SNOMED, ICD, LOINC) and privacy/confidentiality filters.
Develop REST/SOAP web services for data exchange and system interoperability.Develop and configure ISC API Manager and create APIs for the solution.Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy and security regulationsImplement security measures and access controls to protect sensitive healthcare dataComply with healthcare data privacy regulations, such as HIPAAMaintain comprehensive documentation of FHIR implementations, data transformation processes, and data flowsUtilize GIT, Atlassian, and scripting to improve deployment and integration processes.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Professional certifications in systems engineering, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), or ERP systems are a plus.Experience in system integration, data migration, and application configuration.
