## About the Role
CHECK24 is seeking a **(Senior) DevOps Developer / DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)** to support six IT teams within its InsurTech health insurance environment in Hamburg.
Working directly with the Director of IT in a two-person DevOps team, you will provide infrastructure support, automation, configuration management, deployments, system administration, and technical problem-solving.
The role is focused on building sustainable, automated solutions while helping development teams become increasingly independent in managing technical challenges.
## Key Responsibilities
* Support six IT teams with infrastructure issues, deployments, and complex technical challenges.
* Advise development teams on technical roadblocks and develop sustainable solutions together with them.
* Automate recurring operational tasks using Ansible, custom scripts, and Infrastructure as Code.
* Manage and maintain Debian-based Linux systems.
* Configure, harden, patch, and continuously improve the FortiGate firewall.
* Develop reliable automated processes that minimize manual intervention.
* Use scripting and Git-based workflows as part of day-to-day DevOps operations.
* Use AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT to support analysis, scripting, and automation.
* Review existing infrastructure and processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Share technical knowledge and help supported teams strengthen their own technical capabilities.
## Required Qualifications
* Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable technical field.
* At least **3 years of professional experience** in DevOps, Linux, or systems engineering.
* Strong knowledge of **Ansible** and experience operating **Debian-based Linux systems**.
* Strong scripting skills in at least one language, such as **Bash or Python**.
* Practical experience with **Git**.
* Ability to approach infrastructure and operational tasks through automation rather than manual processes.
* Experience using AI tools such as **Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT** where they provide value in DevOps work.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills with a supportive approach to helping other technical teams.
* Business-level **German proficiency (C1 or higher)**.
