Position Overview
VStream Labs Inc.
is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Developer to enhance and support a cloud-based agricultural information system comprising a Java web application and an Esri GIS field-data solution.
The successful consultant will design, develop, test, integrate, and deploy production-grade solutions in a public-sector environment.
Work Arrangement and Compensation
• Hybrid: onsite two days per week in Toronto or Guelph, Ontario.
• Contract: November 2, 2026 to March 31, 2027, with possible extensions.
• Rate range: CAD $60–$70 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver scalable full-stack Java applications and integration services in Microsoft Azure.
• Create technical specifications, application components, configurations, and maintainable production code.
• Develop Java/JEE services with Spring Boot 2.5+, Angular 2+, HTML5, RESTful APIs, and relational databases.
• Build release deployments, automated CI/CD pipelines, and unit tests in an Agile delivery environment.
• Integrate solutions with Esri ArcGIS Portal, Survey123, geospatial services, and mapping applications.
• Deploy and manage Java backend services using Azure App Service Plans and Azure API Management.
• Apply AODA accessibility requirements, secure-development practices, privacy controls, and public-sector technology standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, architects, analysts, and project teams.
Required Qualifications
• Five or more years of hands-on enterprise full-stack development experience.
• Strong Java/JEE and Spring Boot 2.5+ development experience.
• Strong Angular 2+, HTML5, REST API design, and integration experience.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Repos and Pipelines, automated builds, deployments, and unit testing.
• Experience developing Java backend services using Azure App Service Plans and API Management.
• At least one year developing or implementing Java solutions for agricultural, environmental, land, or soil-management systems.
• Experience integrating Esri ArcGIS Portal or Survey123 through RESTful APIs.
• Working knowledge of AODA accessibility compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Deeper hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS and Survey123.
• Experience with approved AI-assisted development tools.
