Role Overview Cars, competition, customization, and a world that’s constantly evolving — Driving Empire has grown into a destination for millions of players on Roblox. 🏎️💨 As a Software Engineer on the team, you’ll have a hand in shaping where the game goes next. This is a role for someone who enjoys seeing their work come to life in a live game: building engaging experiences, tackling interesting technical problems, and iterating alongside a team that’s always looking for ways to make Driving Empire better. You’ll work across disciplines and have the opportunity to ship work directly into the hands of a passionate player community. What You’ll Do Build and launch features that delight millions of players dailyOwn and deliver gameplay features end-to-end, from implementation through release and iterationBreak down product requirements into technical tasks and provide reliable estimatesWrite clean, performant, and maintainable Roblox Lua code aligned with team standardsDesign and implement systems with consideration for scalability, performance, and maintainabilityPartner with designers, artists, and producers to build high-quality gameplay experiencesMonitor live features, analyze performance, and address issues proactivelyIdentify and improve codebase quality, development workflows, and system reliabilityParticipate actively in code reviews and contribute to team engineering practicesPlaytest features and proactively improve player experience (UX, responsiveness, polish) Who You Are 1–3+ years of Roblox or relevant game development experienceStrong foundation in CS fundamentals and problem-solvingExperience shipping features or games in a production environmentExcellent communication, ownership, and collaborative mindsetAbility to work independently on feature development with moderate guidanceStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsFamiliarity with version control and collaborative development workflows Nice to Have: Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent experience working in a development teamShipped games or features on Roblox or similar platformsGame jam or modding experienceFamiliarity with live game systems (analytics, economy tuning, balancing)Experience optimizing performance in multiplayer or real-time systems Tech Stack Roblox Lua scriptingBackend services (AWS,Golang)Analytics pipelines (Snowflake,Tableau)Collaboration tools: GitHub, Discord Voldex is an equal opportunity employer.
