About the team The PMO Regulatory Compliance team is part of the Strategy, Business Operations, Risk Management and Program Management department (SBOPC) within Booking.com's Accommodations Business Unit. There are two program management teams; Regulatory Compliance & Platform. These teams manage a portfolio of high-impact, company-priority programs, from new EU regulatory requirements, new accommodation propositions to cross-company payment model transformations. Our stakeholder landscape spans Product, Tech, Legal, Tax, Partner Affairs, Partner facing teams, and Go-to-market, making this a role where your influence reaches far beyond a single team. What you’ll do As Senior Project Manager, you own the end-to-end delivery of complex, business-critical programs. That means driving scoping, building the implementation strategy, and seeing initiatives through from problem definition to handover, on time and to standard. What you will do Lead medium-to-large programs with senior stakeholder involvement across multiple departments Own governance: progress tracking, risk and dependency management, fast decision-making loops, and escalation where needed Translate ambiguous business needs into clear plans, milestones, and accountability structures Align program roadmaps to ABU and company priorities, and communicate progress and risks to senior leadership Drive change management and communications where rollouts touch a broad group of stakeholders In the short term, you will likely focus on one of our highest-visibility programs: supporting the implementation of a new company-wide One Payment Model. Over time, you will take on broader Compliance program management. What you bring Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional programs in a fast-paced environment. Strong stakeholder management, comfortable engaging up to Director-level, and navigating ambiguity without losing momentum Excellent communication and facilitation skills; you write and present with clarity Structured thinker who can zoom out to strategy and zoom in to execution detail A strong ability to deal with uncertainty & change You do not wait to be unblocked. you identify what is needed and make it happen Practical: Based in the Netherlands | Hybrid working model Key Responsibilities: Craft Methodology and Standards: Lead best practice behaviors within ABU (Accommodations Business Unit) and be an ambassador for Project Management methodology by contributing to company adoption Program Management standards across the company E2E Project Management Lead independently end-to-end (E2E) company / ABU priority programs from initiation to completion including go-to-market. Project Initiation and Planning: Drives the project scoping and planning working with different teams and creating associated documentation. Brings clarity to sponsor, teams and stakeholders by defining and documenting program objectives, requirements and success criteria, KPIs, roadmap/E2E planning, risk and dependencies, cost estimates and in general program deliverables. Project Implementation and Completion Drive Project plan execution, ensuring objectives are met on agreed timelines. Brings Projects to completion ensuring seamless Go-Live and smooth handover to operations Track and report status and progress of all streams of work, identifying and highlighting where required, risk/issues/dependencies to governance groups or team members/groups. Create plans and actions to mitigate/solve risks, issues and/or dependencies. Project Governance Design and implement project governance and delivery structure to ensure efficient delivery, communication and decision making Maintain project management frameworks & templates and follow up if needed with any improvement feedback. Delivery/Impact Drive the progress and successful delivery of initiatives that bring significant value to the business. They are the driving force that collaborates with multiple teams to ensure that teams deliver significant change to the business covering the full scope, on agreed timelines and budget (where applicable). Stakeholder Management Strong in stakeholder management and communication. Ability to work and productively interact with different stakeholders up to Director Level. Primary point of contact for the program related queries. Maintain high-level of engagement among geographically-diverse stakeholders through social channels, email, facilitation & setup of virtual meetings & classroom settings, as well as individual in-person meetings. Success Metrics Define and measure the success metrics of the Project(s)/Workstreams in scope. Facilitator Lead independent workshops to support the delivery of the Project(s). Requirements of special knowledge/skills 5+ years of relevant work experience Strong Project Management Experience. Preferably having a background in Agile Project Management PMP or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is preferred. With limited supervision, ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making Familiar with change management approaches; good understanding of the change curve and process Communication of the project insights and recommendations across all stakeholders Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (both within a team and with wider stakeholders. Ability to work effectively and influence up to Senior Managers and Director Level Highly organized and structured and make sure all processes run smoothly and in a reliable manner. Be able to lead, motivate, and manage stakeholders and project teams to achieve organizational goals. They also should be able to influence and steer senior management and groups. Challenge assumptions and ability to adapt or generate imaginative and innovative ideas Flexibility and the ability to function well within ambiguity and in a constantly changing environment.
