We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to design and develop scalable backend microservices and APIs that support our core payment and wallet systems. You will take ownership of assigned modules throughout the full development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing and deployment. Working closely with frontend engineers, QA, product teams, and senior engineers, you will help build reliable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions. This role is ideal for an experienced backend developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering maintainable systems in a fast-paced fintech environment. What You'll Do: Backend Development and System Design Independently design and develop scalable backend microservices and APIs for payment and wallet systems.Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned backend modules, covering technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment.Design and implement reliable solutions using Java, Spring Boot, MyBatis, and distributed system principles.Develop and optimize RESTful APIs to support business requirements and system performance.Database and System Performance Design and optimize relational database schemas, indexing strategies, and SQL queries using MySQL or PostgreSQL.Implement Redis caching strategies and message queue solutions to support asynchronous processing and high-concurrency workloads.Apply knowledge of database internals, networking, application security, and system performance tuning to develop efficient backend services.Code Quality and Engineering Practices Participate in code reviews and follow established coding, architecture, and engineering standards.Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-structured code.Contribute to continuous improvements in backend development practices, system reliability, and performance.Troubleshooting and Collaboration Troubleshoot and resolve issues within owned backend services, ensuring timely investigation and resolution.Escalate architecture-level or cross-system issues to senior engineers when required.Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA, product teams, and senior engineers to define API specifications, clarify requirements, and deliver projects on schedule.Communicate technical solutions and implementation considerations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of Java backend development experience, with a proven track record of independently delivering projects across the full development lifecycle.Proficiency in:Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and MyBatis.Relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, and SQL performance optimization.Redis caching strategies and message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.Microservices architecture, RESTful API design, API security, and distributed systems.Hands-on experience developing asynchronous processing and high-concurrency solutions.Broad technical knowledge of database internals, networking, application security, and system performance tuning.Strong coding practices, with an emphasis on clean architecture, readability, and maintainability.Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in both English and Mandarin as you will need to work closely with Chinese vendors.The role is based fully onsite, requiring your presence in the office.
