Description

We just raised our Series A, and we're growing the team that builds payment infrastructure for digital-goods businesses. As a Merchant of Record, we take payments, tax, compliance, and subscriptions off our customers' plate, and give them hundreds of payment methods globally. You'll own work end to end — from product requirements to production. Learn the domain, make the design calls, ship systems that move real money. What we're looking for You've shipped and operated substantial backend systems, and owned them end to end.You have strong judgment about IO-bound, upstream-dependent systems: idempotency, consistency, retries, sync vs. async, failure handling, and what it all costs to run.You've worked in production in a backend language — Scala, Kotlin, Rust, TypeScript, Go, Elixir, modern Java, or similar.Solid SQL fundamentals and fluent English.Payments, booking, e-commerce, logistics, or anything else with messy external dependencies is a plus. So is startup experience. The stack Scala and ZIO on the JVM. You don't need prior Scala or ZIO — if you've worked in typed backend systems, you'll ramp up fine. The team You’ll join a team with payments experience, work closely with product and frontend, and help shape a young codebase. We pair on projects, including senior engineers, and share responsibility for production and on-call.
