Intermediate Software Developer Position: Intermediate Software Developer Location: Remote (Canada) Company: Vmo Solutions Start Date: Flexible About the Role We are seeking a capable, collaborative Intermediate Software Developer to join our growing team. In this role you will own features end to end, from design discussion through to production, on cloud-based applications used daily by airline operations teams. You will work across the stack with a strong focus on TypeScript, React, MongoDB, and AWS serverless technologies. This is the right role for someone who has a few solid years behind them, can work independently on well-defined problems, and is ready to start influencing how things are built rather than only building them. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain features in scalable web applications using TypeScriptOwn features end to end, including estimation, implementation, testing, and releaseBuild secure, robust front-end and back-end solutions using React and modern JavaScript toolingContribute to MongoDB data models, queries, and indexing decisionsImplement AWS serverless components (Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions)Write and maintain automated tests as a normal part of deliveryReview another developer's code and offer constructive, specific feedbackWork directly with product and operational stakeholders to understand what the software actually needs to doHelp support and troubleshoot production systemsSuggest and drive improvements to existing systems, tooling, and development processes Qualifications 2 to 5 years of professional software development experienceSolid working experience with React and TypeScriptPractical experience with MongoDB or another NoSQL database, including writing efficient queriesHands-on experience building or maintaining applications on AWS, ideally serverlessComfortable writing automated tests and familiar with testing practicesSome exposure to CI/CD pipelines and day-to-day production operationsAble to take a defined feature and carry it to completion with limited supervisionStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote teamWilling to take initiative, ask the right questions, and make sensible decisions on your ownPreferred Qualifications AWS Certifications (for example, AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect Associate)Exposure to distributed or event-driven systemsFamiliarity with Agile development methodologiesExperience mentoring or onboarding a more junior developerBackground in highly regulated or operationally critical systems Why Join Vmo Solutions?
