About the Role We are seeking a hands-on L3 DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines across our cloud environments. This role focuses on configuration management, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation using Chef, Habitat, Terraform, GCP, and GitLab CI/CD. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who thrives on automating away toil, hardening pipelines, and partnering closely with development and operations teams. Core Technical Skills Ruby Programming • Strong hands-on experience in reading, writing, and debugging Ruby code. • Ability to develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure tools written in Ruby. Chef Software • Proficient in writing and managing Chef cookbooks and recipes. • Experience with Chef Automate, Chef Infra, and Chef Habitat. • Understanding of configuration management and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles. Habitat • Hands-on experience with Habitat packaging and service management. • Ability to build, deploy, and manage Habitat packages across environments. • Familiarity with Habitat plans, scaffolding, and studio environments. GitLab • Strong understanding of GitLab CI/CD pipelines. • Experience in managing GitLab repositories, runners, and integrations. • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize pipeline performance. Cloud & Infrastructure as Code • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) compute, networking, and IAM fundamentals. • Proficient in Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure as code. • Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines end to end (build, test, deploy). • Working knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus.
