About the Role As a Back-end Software Developer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining first class solutions for tier 1 financial institutions around the world. Forming part of a large team of experienced professionals you will be participating in different areas of the software development life-cycle and specialize in a range of different areas from design, development, maintenance and quality assurance of our products and services. Liaising with different parts of the business, you will be dealing with Business Analysts, Project Managers and other internal functions in order to fulfil client requirements Responsibilities Participate in the entire application life cycle, focusing on coding and debuggingBuild and perform unit testsBuild reusable code and libraries for future useClearly document solutions for all stakeholdersOptimization of applications for maximum performance and scalabilityCollaborate with other team members to establish objectives and design functional requirementsAnalyse, Design and Document new requirementsPerform under pressure and have the ability to deal with and solve problems quickly and accurately with limited supervisionTaking lead on projects when needed Qualifications Be in possession of a degree in computing/engineering or a similar recognized qualification Required Skills Gain an interest in how the payments industry works and explore new trends in the industryHave good knowledge of software development life-cycle processesExperience working with PL/SQL and SQL would be considered an assetHas experience working with RDBMS Databases (ex. Oracle SQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (ex. MongoDB, Scylla);Knowledge in Ruby, Python and Jenkins would be considered an assetKnowledge in micro services and APIs would be considered an assetMeticulous, methodical and accurate approach for the completion of tasksAble to work in a teamHave strong organisational and time management skills, able to prioritize across different tasks and meet deadlines as per business exigenciesStrong communication and writing skills in English Think you've got what it takes?
