About the role For an international client in Amsterdam, we’re looking for a medior Java Developer. You’ll join a small team of 6 to 8 developers working within a microservices landscape, with short lines of communication and plenty of room for your own input. You’ll work hybrid, with Amsterdam as your base location. What you'll do Develop and maintain microservices (REST APIs) using Java 21 and Spring BootWork with event-driven architecture via Azure Event Hub, including communication between microservicesDeploy and manage applications on Kubernetes (AKS)Write automated tests using Testcontainers, WireMock, Mockito and MockMVC, including Kafka testsApply architectural principles such as hexagonal architecture, SOLID and DDDContribute to infrastructure as code (Terraform) What you'll bring A bachelor’s/master’s level of thinking and a 3-5 years of experience as a Java developerExperience with Spring Boot and building REST APIsAffinity with event-driven systems (Kafka, Event Hub) and an understanding of topics such as DLQ, message retry, message ordering and idempotencyKnowledge of, or interest in, container orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS)Affinity with microservices architecture and the challenges that come with it (for example around communication, consistency and deployments)A curiosity about how things work under the hood (for example Kafka serde) and an interest in monitoring, deployments and rollback strategiesYou like working independently, but also actively seek collaboration within a small team What we offer 4000 - 5500 euros per monthBonus schemeBudget for training and certificationsPersonal guidance from Outtask throughout your assignment Please note We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
