This is an exciting opening for a Senior Developer within the Digital Services Group at University of the Arts London.
Focused on delivering new digital functionality and web development support for UAL's digital products, which include student information and booking services, the main university website, student portfolio and showcase platforms, using PHP, JavaScript, HTML and related technologies.
You will work with UAL's core content management systems, collaborating with development teams in Digital & Technology, to produce new functionality and services across a range of exciting digital products.
You will be instrumental in designing and building foundational systems to reduce and realign our tech stack and help modernise ways of working.
You will also get the opportunity to play a key role in projects, working with key stakeholders to identify requirements for new applications, working in an Agile environment.
Experience
Extensive experience of developing websites and web applications using PHP 8+, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX/JSONGood working understanding of CMS and frameworks such as Drupal, WordPress, Craft and LaravelProficiency and application of WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidanceKnowledge of microservices, APIs (build and integration) and cloud services (AWS)Strong stakeholder management experience, along with high level inter-personal and communication skillsExperience working as a member of a development team, providing support, mentoring and cover where neededExperience of Agile and Scrum, as well as other software and product development and delivery methodologies
