IT Platform Engineer - Python and Azure

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension). Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands. Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate! Experience: 6-8 years. Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office Your Profile & DNA: We are looking for an experienced IT Platform Engineer with strong Python and Azure Cloud expertise to join our engineering team in Amsterdam. The role covers the complete software development lifecycle — from planning and solution design to development, testing, CI/CD, and automated deployment. Roles & Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy reliable Python solutions.Build scalable cloud-based solutions using Azure.Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform.Apply clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns, and DDD.Develop automated unit tests and maintain high code quality.Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.Work with SQL/NoSQL databases and data governance practices.Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and DevOps teams.Troubleshoot technical challenges and continuously improve platform reliability. Qualification & Experience A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.Strong Python development experienceStrong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)Software analysis, design, and architecture experienceHands-on experience with Microsoft AzureAzure StorageAccess Management / IdentityNetworkingStrong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as CodeSolid understanding of DevOps and CI/CDExperience with incremental software development practicesStrong knowledge of SOLID principles & Design PatternsExperience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)Experience with SQL & NoSQL databasesUnderstanding of Data GovernanceKnowledge of Databricks Unity CatalogExperience with pytest and mocking frameworksAzure Cosmos DB experience is a plus What do we offer?
