Senior WordPress Engineer / Web Lead £50k to £60k | Manchester | Hybrid Picture yourself walking into work knowing you own the entire web function. No endless agency tickets. No layers of approval. No being one developer in a huge digital team. You’re the technical owner. You’ll take responsibility for a portfolio of high-traffic websites, working closely with marketing and engineering to decide what gets built, how it gets built and where the websites go next. Across the portfolio, the websites attract around 100,000 visitors every month and play a major role in generating new business. This is a newly created role, so you’ll have plenty of freedom to put your own stamp on things. What your day-to-day looks like: Owning and developing multiple WordPress websitesWorking with PHP, MySQL, CSS and WordPressManaging plugins, integrations and APIsWorking closely with marketing to turn ideas into website improvementsBecoming the go-to technical person for everything webWorking with the wider engineering team when integrations get more involvedHaving the opportunity to shape and grow the wider web function You’ll need: Strong WordPress development experiencePHP and MySQLWordPress plugin and API integration experienceThe confidence to work independently and take ownershipReact experience would be a nice bonus.
