Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer

We're on the hunt for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Workflow team based here in Auckland. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer with at least 12 months' professional experience to grow their technical skills while building software that makes a real difference in healthcare. As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll work across the full stack on our clinical workflow and forms software, helping healthcare organisations digitise the way clinical information is captured and used. You'll be working with React and TypeScript on the frontend and Java on the backend, alongside an experienced team with a strong focus on quality engineering and teamwork. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, tackle interesting technical problems and continue developing your engineering judgement. Because our software is used in real clinical environments, we care about getting things right - from thoughtful design and meaningful testing through to constructive code review. What you'll get stuck into: Building full-stack features using React, TypeScript and Java.Working on our configurable clinical forms and workflow software.Designing solutions and working through technical problems before jumping into code.Writing meaningful automated tests and debugging issues across the stack.Reviewing code with other engineers, sharing your thinking and learning from feedback.Building your knowledge of healthcare technology and how software is deployed in real clinical environments. What will you bring? At least 12 months' professional software engineering experience.A BE(Hons) in Software Engineering, BSc in Computer Science, or equivalent.Experience with some of our core stack - JavaScript/TypeScript, React and Java.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to pick up unfamiliar technologies quickly.A solid approach to software engineering - thinking through design, writing meaningful tests, using version control and contributing to code reviews.Good communication skills, with the ability to explain your code, reasoning and technical decisions. Experience with any of the following would be a bonus: SQL and relational databases.REST APIs.Jest, JUnit or Playwright.Material UI (MUI).Docker.AWS.CI/CD, particularly GitLab CI.
