Frontex (the European Border and Coast Guard Agency) is an agency of the European Union that supports EU Member States and Schengen-associated countries in managing the EU's external borders.
Its responsibilities include border management, preventing cross-border crime, combating irregular migration, and supporting search and rescue operations.
📄 Tasks and responsibilities:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and tools to support various IT operations, including infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, deployment, and incident response (products including VMware, Azure/AWS/Google Cloud, Windows Server and Linux Red Hat)Analyzing existing IT processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement, proposing and developing automation strategies to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance scalabilityWriting scripts and developing code using programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate routine tasks, data processing, and system integrationUtilizing configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) and infrastructure-As-code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Terraform, VMware ARIA Automation) to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of IT infrastructure componentsRecommending and implementing IT best practicesImplementing changes according to ICT change management proceduresProviding 2nd line support to other IT teams and coordinating with 3rd line of supportUpdating the technical documentation and operating proceduresEvaluating and implementing IT security standardsParticipation in coordination and project meetingsOther specific duties aligned to profile as assigned by supervisor
