We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join Engineering Excellence, our platform and developer experience team.
EngEx helps to build our shared capability, tooling and practices that help product teams deliver secure, reliable software efficiently.
This is a hands-on role focused on building and improving developer workflows, delivery tooling and platform capability.
You will work primarily with Go and TypeScript/Node.js across AWS, AWS CDK, automated delivery, observability and production engineering practices.
You will also work with engineering teams to help them adopt and get value from the capabilities and standards EngEx provides.
What you’ll be doing:
Technical Excellence: Build practical tooling, automation and platform capabilities that improve developer workflows and delivery outcomes across engineering teams.System Architecture: Support the architecture of scalable solutions considering performance, security, and long-term maintainability with pragmatic trade-offs.Quality & Standards: Maintain the standard for code quality and technical practices, establish and improve team coding standards and improve processes through experimentation.Technical Enablement: Share knowledge through pairing, code review, documentation and technical discussions.
Help engineering teams adopt effective practices and influence technical decisions across teams through evidence, collaboration and clear communication rather than formal authority.Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to understand pain points, advocate for platform improvements, and embed new capabilities where they deliver the most value.Observability & Production Readiness: Improve observability, telemetry and production-readiness practices with OpenTelemetry and Datadog so teams can understand system behaviour, detect issues quickly and learn from incidents.
What you’ll bring:
Demonstrated Experience with the following:Golang/TypeScript/Node.jsSQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, DSQL)Event-driven architectures and serverless patterns (SQS, SNS, EventBridge)AWS products and AWS CDKCI/CD pipelines, test automation, and IaCObservability with OpenTelemetry and platforms such as DatadogEngineering Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Out of Home media or advertising technology experience is highly desirable.Software Design & Architecture: Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system design.Technical Influence: Experience promoting technical improvements, building agreement across teams, and progressing initiatives.Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
