Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Software Engineer role based in Kaohsiung City, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Software Engineer will design, implement, and maintain backend services and applications that power Hyarks’ autonomous marine systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable code, developing APIs, integrating with hardware and sensor data, and collaborating with robotics, AI, and operations teams to support mission-critical features. The role involves troubleshooting and optimizing system performance, contributing to software architecture decisions, and participating in code reviews and testing to ensure reliability and scalability. The Software Engineer will also help improve development workflows and documentation to support consistent, high-quality releases. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience shipping production-quality applications.Hands-on experience with Back-End Web Development, including APIs, web services, and database integration.Solid understanding and practical use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in modern programming languages.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud platforms, or microservices architectures is beneficial.Experience working with real-time systems, robotics, or sensor integration in marine or industrial environments is a plus.Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and work effectively in a hybrid environment.Comfort with version control (e.g., Git), testing frameworks, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
