The Role This is an exciting opportunity for experienced mid-level Backend Software Engineers to join ABC Digital Product and work on the services and APIs underpinning our digital platforms. We have 2x mid-level Software Engineer opportunities, working primarily with Go / Golang to design and develop high-performance APIs, services and reusable backend components across complex ABC digital environments. The roles also involve cloud infrastructure and maintaining and enhancing existing PHP-based systems. Key Accountabilities Develop and maintain high-performance, secure and accessible APIs and services across ABC platformsContribute extensively to the analysis, design and development of complex, reusable backend components and functionalityBuild enterprise-level server-side applications and services using Go / GolangDesign and develop highly available services using cloud infrastructureMaintain and enhance existing PHP-based systems while contributing to newer backend servicesApply modern frameworks, build tooling and automated testing practices across backend developmentContribute to strong version control, branching, merging and software versioning practicesMaintain detailed technical and project documentation for ongoing referenceKeep up to date with emerging server-side technologies and best practice, particularly around performance and securityDeliver high-quality software within agreed timeframes and work collaboratively across engineering and product teams About You You’ll bring: Strong Go / Golang experience and solid server-side software engineering capabilityExperience developing complex, secure and high-performance backend softwareExperience designing and developing APIs and backend servicesExperience working with cloud-based infrastructure and highly available systemsStrong knowledge of modern frameworks and development toolingExperience with automated and unit testingExperience with version control, branching, merging and versioning strategiesCapability and willingness to work with PHP to maintain and enhance existing servicesStrong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skillsGood organisational skills and the ability to deliver work within agreed timeframesKnowledge of publishing, media delivery or content workflows would be highly regardedRelevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience What’s in it for you?
