Our Computational Modelling Laboratory (CML) builds lightweight AI models for fast, offline, on-device Nepali translation on standard mobile devices. This is a raw startup environment. We need an entrepreneurial candidate who loves taking absolute ownership and solving unstructured problems without hand-holding. Key Responsibilities & What We Look For You will build and optimize neural machine translation (NMT) models using compression techniques to run them offline on small devices. This requires cleaning large text datasets, training systems, and researching deployment solutions independently. To succeed, you need strong Python skills (NumPy, Pandas) and familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or ONNX. You must be highly resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity, possess a good math foundation (linear algebra/statistics), and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). Understanding Nepali grammar is a big plus. What We Provide We give you remote server access for heavy computational workloads and model training so you can work effectively on your own setup. Your code will directly shape our core technology from day one. The first 1–3 months are an unpaid training period focused on learning NLP, model optimization, and core CML skills. Upon completion, top performers will transition into a partially paid 6-month internship or a permanent full-time role based on performance.
